Position Overview:


As a Critical Facilities Day Technician, you will be integral to upholding the facility's distinguished reputation among high-profile clients, ensuring uninterrupted operations and delivering exceptional service.

Your role will involve working during core hours from 8 am to 4 pm, providing essential support for Data Centre operations and engineering across the facility.

In collaboration with supervisors, you will manage the upkeep of Electrical and Mechanical systems, emphasizing both preventative maintenance and swift issue resolution.

Effective communication and organizational skills are vital as you coordinate with team members and plan daily tasks.

Key Responsibilities:
Utilize software such as ServiceNow and Zendesk for managing work assignments and tracking service tickets, including mentoring fellow engineers.

Oversee Contractor Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and Service Repairs on Critical Data Centre Systems, along with necessary administrative duties.

Execute Isolation, Earthing, and Reinstatement procedures for Critical Data Centre Electrical and Mechanical equipment as required.
Review and update Data Centre Electrical/Mechanical system schematics.
Supervise confined space operations as applicable.

Monitor and manage Building Management System (BMS) alerts, performing diagnostic evaluations, coordinating repairs, and adhering to escalation protocols as needed.

Address customer inquiries promptly and escalate issues as necessary following established procedures.

Conduct operation, inspection, and maintenance of Emergency Power Generation and UPS equipment, ensuring adherence to manufacturer guidelines and client policies.

Develop and implement the site's Safe System of Works to minimize errors and ensure continuous operation.
Maintain HVAP status and relevant qualifications, including frequent switching and provision of out-of-hours support as per client agreements.
Complete Reactive/Remedial works as per the ticketing system on all Critical Equipment and building infrastructure.
Be available for shift coverage, including nights, at short notice based on operational needs.

Accountabilities:
Report to the Technical Supervisor.
No direct management responsibilities.
No direct budgetary oversight.

Qualifications:
Formal training in Electrical or Mechanical disciplines.
Familiarity with critical infrastructure operations.
Security Clearance to BPSS level, with potential for SC clearance.

Training:
Experience as a Building Service Engineer in a critical environment.
Strong collaborative skills within a team.
Proficiency in multi-disciplinary engineering tasks.
