Job Overview

The Systems Administrator plays a crucial role in ensuring the effective maintenance, configuration, and dependable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversees the functionality of servers, workstations, printers, desk phones, smartphones, software deployment, security updates, wireless networks, switches, and patching to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
  • Manages the installation and upgrades of computer components and software, virtual servers, and automation processes for integration.
  • Develops, modifies, and utilizes database tables, forms, queries, and reports to support business operations.
  • Conducts and maintains database replication to ensure data integrity.
  • Performs server administration tasks, including user/group administration, security permissions, group policies, print services, and resource monitoring, ensuring seamless integration of system architecture components.
  • Monitors the health of the datacenter using established management tools and assists with SQL-related issues, including the construction, testing, and maintenance of new servers as required.
  • Conducts routine and scheduled systems audits to ensure compliance and efficiency.
  • Trains and develops staff on corporate systems, application changes, and emerging technologies.
  • Executes monthly server maintenance and updates to uphold system performance.
  • Maintains internal infrastructure requirements across all hardware.
  • Supports internet, intranet, LANs, WANs, and network segments as necessary.
  • Collaborates with the help desk and other teams to assist in troubleshooting, identifying root causes, and providing additional technical support as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Work Environment

Team Members may encounter secondhand tobacco smoke, particularly those working in designated areas. The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate but can occasionally escalate to higher levels for brief periods.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, and/or walk for up to 8 hours.
  • Capability to carry, reach, twist, bend, and squat frequently.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance as necessary.

Qualifications

  • Minimum age requirement is 21 years.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for travel between locations.
  • 4-year degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Familiarity with SQL Server, database operations, and knowledge of SQL programming language.
  • Working knowledge of virtualization technologies, such as Hyper-V.
  • Strong understanding of systems and networking software, hardware, and protocols.
  • Experience with the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of Microsoft products.
  • Experience with domain controllers, DNS, Group Policy, and DHCP protocols.
  • Ability to create scripts in Python, Perl, or other programming languages.
  • Knowledge of system security measures and data backup/recovery processes.
  • Familiarity with enterprise-level relational database systems.
  • IT certifications in Linux, Microsoft, or other network-related fields are advantageous.
  • Effective communication skills in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Compliance with pre-employment, random, and reasonable suspicion alcohol and drug testing.
  • Possession of a valid gaming license from the appropriate regulatory authority.
  • Availability to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays, based on departmental needs.
