Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled, innovative, and proactive Senior Media Relations Manager for the Americas region, with the position based in Houston or New York. As a key member of the media relations team within the broader marketing and communications department, you will be responsible for crafting and executing strategies that enhance brand visibility and foster business growth. This role is crucial to our global communications efforts and will involve collaboration across various departments and regions, primarily focusing on elevating Rystad Energy's profile in the Americas.
Key Responsibilities
• Serve as an essential member of the global Rystad Energy media relations team.
• Act as the primary media contact for the region and facilitate communication with Rystad Energy spokespeople.
• Enhance Rystad Energy's media presence worldwide in alignment with commercial objectives.
• Assist in developing a comprehensive media strategy that supports business goals.
• Lead media campaigns, including corporate communications, research-driven press materials, news releases, editorials, articles, interviews, and related outreach.
• Implement media activities across various platforms, including web, print, television, radio, and events.
• Provide support for reporter data requests; familiarity with data skills and dashboards is advantageous.
• Identify innovative methods to convey Rystad Energy's messages to targeted stakeholders.
• Proactively pitch news stories, features, and editorials to the media.
• Conduct media training sessions for analysts and spokespeople, offering ongoing advice and feedback on media interactions.
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with journalists, editors, and media outlets.
• Develop a deep understanding of industry dynamics and trends.
• Coordinate responses to media inquiries, ensuring accurate representation of Rystad Energy.
• Manage crisis communication situations as necessary.
• Provide internal guidance on media relations and communication strategies.
• Travel may be required.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in public relations, communications, journalism, or marketing.
• 5-7 years of relevant professional experience.
• Established relationships within the international energy news media are highly desirable.
• Proven track record of building rapport with journalists, producers, and editors.
• Experience in media relations, strategic communications, and content delivery.
• Exceptional writing skills with an understanding of media writing styles.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in global operations across multiple time zones.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Familiarity with marketing automation tools, graphic design software, and programming is a plus.
• Proficiency in additional languages, including Spanish and Portuguese, is advantageous.
