BlueLinx is expanding, and we are in search of a Building Product Sales Executive to enhance our sales force. We are seeking individuals who are Subject Matter Experts (SME) in targeted building materials.

The ideal candidate will have the chance to grow and advance their career while collaborating with sales leadership and customers focused on growth.

We value strong relationship builders who possess confidence in their product and analytical expertise, and who are adept at working across various departments, with clients and suppliers.

This position acts as the SME for a designated product or group of products, while supporting a specific geographical area (sales district or region).

Our Building Product Sales Executives are responsible for identifying new business opportunities, crafting sales solutions, closing sales deals, negotiating pricing, forecasting inventory needs, and delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain robust relationships with clients to foster sales growth and ensure long-term profitability for BlueLinx.
  • Identify new sales opportunities with both new and existing clients for assigned products.
  • Enhance profitability, product penetration, product mix, and inventory turnover for all customers related to assigned products.
  • Ensure optimal product performance and cultivate positive customer and supplier relationships.
  • Provide comprehensive sales and technical support for assigned products, addressing all customer service inquiries.
  • Develop competitive pricing strategies and sales solutions for assigned products.
  • Effectively communicate the value proposition to clients, proposing and reassessing sales solutions as necessary.
  • Promote existing products while introducing new product opportunities to boost sales and profitability.
  • Analyze sales performance and profitability; create pricing models and strategies tailored for the region.
  • Foster relationships with internal teams, including branches, supply chain, product management, and sales operations.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience, along with a bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience.
  • Self-driven, energetic, persistent, and possessing a strong sense of urgency.
  • Proven track record of sales success, demonstrating the ability to drive growth while managing a substantial client portfolio.
  • Creative and innovative problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and collaborate across functions.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with proficiency in both written and verbal communication.
  • Familiarity with the assigned product line, customer support/service, and inventory management.
  • Strong consultative selling skills, with confidence in achieving win/win negotiation outcomes.
  • Experience in negotiating prices, providing market insights, and evaluating sales pipelines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
