Position Overview: This is a full-time role.

Employment Status: Non-Exempt/Hourly

Compensation: Competitive salary based on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer recovery assistance to clients by sharing personal experiences.
  • Support peer participants in crafting individualized self-directed recovery plans.
  • Provide non-clinical support during pre-crisis or crisis situations, particularly following hospital stays or incarceration.
  • Educate participants on various recovery pathways.
  • Identify and facilitate connections to community resources that align with participants' goals.
  • Adhere to HCBS peer support service delivery protocols.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of services provided in electronic health records.
  • Accompany clients to medical appointments and court appearances, assisting with benefit applications as necessary.
  • Assist participants in transitioning from inpatient care to community settings.
  • Share information regarding benefits, entitlements, and available support services.
  • Conduct outreach to help participants access desired services.
  • Connect participants with essential community resources and treatment services.
  • Ensure documentation complies with OASAS standards and Hope House policies.
  • Uphold client confidentiality in accordance with applicable regulations.
  • Familiarize and comply with current agency policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to the CASAC Canon of Ethical Principles.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Valid driver's license.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Word and basic computer skills.
  • Understanding of benefits and entitlements for individuals with disabilities.
  • Knowledge of the recovery process for substance use disorders.

Preferred Experience: Background in mental health or substance use fields is advantageous.

Certification Requirement: Must be a Certified Recovery Peer Advocate. For details on obtaining certification, please refer to the relevant resources.
