Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direct oversight of licensed professionals, this role involves delivering 70% billable services to individuals within an assigned caseload. It is essential to adhere to service protocols and complete all necessary documentation within a 24-hour timeframe. Responsibilities include assisting clients with housing applications, providing referrals to housing resources, managing renewals, and addressing housing-related concerns to promote stable living conditions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure that services provided are authorized and maintain an accurate caseload.
  • Utilize time effectively for travel, scheduling, and activities that facilitate successful face-to-face appointments.
  • Participate in mandatory training, supervision, and meetings as scheduled by the supervisor.
  • Stay updated with essential knowledge to perform assigned duties effectively.
  • Perform additional tasks as required.

QUALIFICATIONS: A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with a combination of training and experience that has equipped the applicant with the necessary advocacy, advisory, or governance skills. Candidates must have at least one continuous year as a current or former recipient of treatment, including mental health or substance abuse services. Certification as a Peer Specialist by the Georgia Department of Human Resources is mandatory.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Preference will be given to candidates holding a Bachelor's Degree in a human services field and a Certified Peer Specialist designation, along with one year of experience at the Certified Peer Specialist level or in a similar role. Alternatively, candidates with one year of experience at the SST-2 level with Certified Peer Specialist designation or five years of experience at the Certified Peer Specialist level will also be considered.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • A pre-employment physical examination is required.
  • A fingerprint criminal background check is necessary.
  • Pre-employment drug testing and random alcohol/drug testing will be conducted.
  • Males aged 18 to 26 must provide proof of registration with the Selective Services System or an exemption.
  • An official transcript from the college that awarded the degree or hours is required.
