Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direct supervision of licensed professionals, the role involves providing 70% billable services to individuals within an assigned caseload. Adherence to service guidelines is essential, and all documentation must be completed within 24 hours. The position focuses on assisting individuals in re-engaging with services, ensuring that the authorized services delivered are monitored, and maintaining an accurate caseload. Time management for travel, scheduling, and necessary activities to facilitate successful face-to-face appointments is crucial.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Attend mandatory training sessions, supervision, and meetings as scheduled by the supervisor.
  • Stay updated with essential learning to effectively perform assigned duties.
  • Complete other related tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with a combination of training and experience that equips the applicant with the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities in advocacy or advisory roles. A minimum of one continuous year as a current or former recipient of treatment (including mental health or substance abuse treatment) is necessary. Certification as a Peer Specialist by the Georgia Department of Human Resources is required. The annual salary for certified individuals is $29,600.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Preference will be given to candidates holding a Bachelor's Degree in a human services field and possessing a Certified Peer Specialist designation with at least one year of experience in a similar role. Alternatively, candidates with one year of experience at the SST-2 level with Certified Peer Specialist designation or five years of experience at the Certified Peer Specialist level will also be considered.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • A pre-employment physical examination is required.
  • A fingerprint criminal records investigation is mandatory.
  • Pre-employment drug testing and random alcohol/drug testing will be conducted.
  • Males aged 18 to 26 must provide proof of registration with the Selective Services System or evidence of exemption.
  • An official transcript from the college that awarded the degree or hours is required.
