Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direct oversight of licensed professionals, this role entails providing 70% billable services to individuals within an assigned caseload. Adherence to service protocols is essential. Documentation must be completed within a 24-hour timeframe. This position focuses on assisting individuals in re-engaging with services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor the delivery of authorized services and ensure the accuracy of the caseload.
  • Utilize time effectively for travel, scheduling, and activities necessary for successful face-to-face appointments.
  • Participate in mandatory training, supervision, and meetings as scheduled by the supervisor.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge and skills essential for performing assigned duties.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

Applicants must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. A combination of training and experience that has provided the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities in advocacy or advisory roles is required. Candidates must have at least one continuous year as a current or former recipient of treatment (including mental health or substance abuse treatment). Certification as a Peer Specialist by the Georgia Department of Human Resources is mandatory. The annual salary for certified individuals is $29,600.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Preference will be given to candidates with a Bachelor's Degree in a human services field and a Certified Peer Specialist designation, along with one year of experience at the Certified Peer Specialist level or in a similar role. Alternatively, candidates with one year of experience at the SST-2 level with Certified Peer Specialist designation or five years of experience at the Certified Peer Specialist level will also be considered.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • A pre-employment physical examination is required.
  • A fingerprint criminal records investigation is necessary.
  • Pre-employment drug testing and random alcohol/drug testing are mandatory.
  • Males aged 18 to 26 must provide proof of registration with the Selective Services System or be exempt.
  • An official transcript from the college that granted the degree or hours is required.
