About the Role

FM Global is seeking a highly skilled Consultant Engineer II to join our team in the Louisville, KY area. As a Consultant Engineer, you will play a critical role in identifying property hazards and delivering practical solutions to minimize or eliminate risks at insured client facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments and develop effective mitigation strategies to protect clients' assets.
  • Communicate key risks and priorities to clients, providing sound advice to support informed decision-making.
  • Apply consistent risk assessment and mitigation guidance, leveraging FM's Property Loss Prevention Data Sheets and company operating procedures.
  • Prepare technical engineering reports, documenting conclusions and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with various departments to develop and implement risk improvement strategies.
  • Develop long-lasting relationships with clients, acting as a trusted advisor and consultant within your field.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (varies engineering disciplines considered); a chemical engineering background is a plus.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in heavy industry, preferably in a chemical manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on understanding of various chemical and mechanical production processes and support systems.
  • Experience in process safety practices and safety devices, with familiarity with sprinkler protection a plus.
  • Independent and focused within a home office environment, with strong planning and time management skills.
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills, geared towards a consulting role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
  • A valid driver's license is required, with a company car provided.
