Position Overview

AECOM is looking for an Environmental Engineer to be based in a dynamic work environment.

The responsibilities of this role encompass, but are not limited to:

  • Developing analytical and design capabilities.
  • Executing engineering designs under the guidance of seasoned engineers.
  • Producing designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, and comprehensive working drawings with supervision.
  • Gathering and interpreting data under the mentorship of experienced engineers.
  • Utilizing software tools to address fundamental engineering challenges.
  • Ensuring project work aligns with established budgets and timelines under supervision.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Environmental Science.
  • U.S. citizenship is required due to the nature of the work.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in air permitting and compliance.
  • Familiarity with EPA and state air regulations, guidelines, and policies; knowledge of additional state regulations is a plus.
  • Capability to perform emissions calculations using engineering principles.
  • Experience in managing air quality tasks, including proposal contributions, client communications, project team collaboration, technical task coordination, and report writing.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, quantitative, and interpersonal skills.
  • Independent thinker with a strategic mindset, detail-oriented, and able to work collaboratively.
  • Proactive approach to projects and a demonstrated initiative.
  • Proficient in PC-based applications (MS Word and Excel) with good typing skills.

Additional Information

  • Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
  • Travel requirements are approximately 10%.
  • This position entails a hybrid work schedule, requiring in-office presence on a scheduled basis.
