Production Operator Job Description

At Chemours, we're committed to creating a better world through the power of chemistry. As a Production Operator, you'll play a critical role in our operations team, ensuring the safe and efficient 24-hour operation of chemical manufacturing process units.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and maintain equipment to prevent downtime and ensure optimal performance.
  • Perform complex and simple chemical operations required in the manufacturing process.
  • Load, ship, and receive finished, raw, or intermediate materials.
  • Collaborate with the Emergency Response Team to respond to emergencies and maintain a safe working environment.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 3 years of experience working in a refinery/chemical plant or petrochemical, chemical manufacturing industry.
  • Working knowledge of lock out tag out, confined spaces, and electrical safety.
  • Ability to work day work or 12-hour rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Computer skills (Microsoft Office applications-Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Ability to maintain a respectful work environment.
  • Strong communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associates degree.
  • Relevant advanced degree or certification (e.g., Production Technology, Engineering Technology).
  • HAZMAT, Fire Brigade, and/or Emergency Responder training.
