Position Overview:

The Manufacturing Operations Leader is tasked with delivering strategic direction to achieve operational excellence and corporate objectives. This role is pivotal in upholding the highest standards of safety, quality, and delivery to meet manufacturing goals and fulfill customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct all facets of operations through strategic vision and effective management.
  • Guide, motivate, and manage staff to achieve operational outcomes that align with organizational Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), including safety, quality, cost efficiency, delivery timelines, and compliance.
  • Oversee plant financial performance, including P&L, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.
  • Analyze monthly and annual financial reports to assess performance and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Collaborate with departmental leaders to ensure alignment with company-wide strategies and initiatives.
  • Enhance manufacturing processes through improved asset utilization and strategic investments.
  • Develop and manage capital budgets and long-term facility plans to support growth objectives.
  • Work closely with Sales to ensure manufacturing capabilities align with revenue growth strategies.
  • Manage product launches in accordance with organizational standards for flawless execution.
  • Promote the adoption of the Shiloh Production System (SPS) across assigned locations.
  • Conduct regular audits of the SPS system across all value streams.
  • Identify, prioritize, and manage productivity improvement projects continuously.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, ISO, and other regulatory standards.
  • Implement best practices in project management, including safety, quality, and lean methodologies.
  • Establish credibility and trust through effective communication and leadership at all organizational levels.
  • Uphold ethical business practices and embody the core values of the organization.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

The Manufacturing Operations Leader will oversee functional managers, including those in Materials, Finance, and Quality Assurance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field, with a minimum of ten years of relevant experience in Engineering, Production, or Supply Chain.
  • At least eight years of leadership experience at a managerial level, preferably within the automotive sector, with experience in a Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) environment being advantageous.
  • Proven track record of managing P&L and operational budgets, along with long-term strategic planning.
  • Experience in leading product launches or high-level project management roles.
  • Familiarity with TS and ISO standards and audit processes.
  • Experience in multi-step manufacturing operations, including robotic automation.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and drive organizational change.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to influence and collaborate across various organizational levels.
  • Proven continuous improvement and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Solid financial acumen related to business operations.
  • Knowledge of the Toyota Production System and Lean methodologies.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Willingness to travel as required.

Certifications:

  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification or equivalent continuous improvement certification.
