Position Overview:

The Manufacturing Operations Leader is tasked with providing strategic direction to achieve operational results and corporate objectives. This role is crucial in upholding the highest standards of safety, quality, and delivery to meet manufacturing goals and fulfill customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct all facets of the operation through strategic leadership and effective management practices.
  • Guide, motivate, and oversee staff to achieve operational outcomes that align with organizational Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), including safety, quality, cost, delivery, and compliance.
  • Manage plant financials, including P&L, budgets, forecasts, and the development and execution of strategic plans.
  • Analyze monthly and annual financial reports for budget assessments, evaluate performance through gap analysis, and identify corrective actions as needed.
  • Collaborate with departmental leaders to effectively implement strategies and initiatives that align with company goals.
  • Enhance manufacturing processes through improved asset utilization and strategic investments.
  • Develop and manage capital budgets and long-term facility plans to support growth objectives.
  • Work closely with Sales to ensure manufacturing capacity aligns with revenue growth strategies.
  • Oversee product launches in accordance with the organization's operational excellence initiatives.
  • Promote the learning and application of the Shiloh Production System (SPS) across assigned locations.
  • Regularly audit the SPS system across all value streams.
  • Identify, prioritize, and manage a pipeline of productivity projects on an ongoing basis.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, ISO, and other relevant standards.
  • Implement best practices in all projects, including equipment installation, safety, quality, and maintenance.
  • Establish leadership credibility through clear communication and actions at all organizational levels.
  • Uphold ethical business practices and exemplify the core values of the company.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

The Manufacturing Operations Leader will manage functional managers across various departments.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field with a minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience in Engineering, Production, or Supply Chain.
  • At least eight (8) years of leadership experience at a managerial level, preferably within the automotive industry. Experience in a Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) environment is advantageous.
  • Proven experience managing P&L and developing operational budgets and long-term plans.
  • Experience in product launches or high-level project management roles.
  • Familiarity with TS and ISO standards and audit processes.
  • Experience in multi-step manufacturing operations, including robotic automation.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated ability to build and lead teams and drive organizational change.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively influence and collaborate across organizational boundaries.
  • Proven continuous improvement and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong financial acumen related to business operations.
  • Knowledge of and experience with Lean manufacturing principles and tools.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% as required.

Certifications:

  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification or equivalent continuous improvement certification.
