Senior Electrical & Controls Engineer

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee projects focused on electrical systems and sustainability initiatives.
  • Ensure adherence to applicable electrical codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
  • Design and implement control systems, including PLC programming, HMI interfaces, and SCADA applications.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, such as electrical schematics, control system layouts, and technical specifications.
  • Conduct regular site evaluations and provide services as outlined in contractual agreements.
  • Work collaboratively with mechanical and process engineers, as well as other stakeholders, to seamlessly integrate electrical and control systems into production equipment and workflows.
  • Offer technical guidance and training to production teams to ensure the effective operation and upkeep of electrical and control systems.
  • Mentor and develop a team of automation engineers as necessary.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related discipline; a Master's degree is advantageous.
  • Experience in PLC programming (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens), HMI design, and SCADA systems is preferred.
  • Solid understanding of electrical engineering concepts, including power distribution, motor control, and instrumentation.
  • Exceptional critical thinking, problem-solving, prioritization, and data analysis abilities.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations, such as NEC, NFPA, and UL.
  • Proficiency in CAD software for electrical design (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN) is desirable.
  • Effective communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and execute effectively to meet project deadlines.
  • Capability to mentor and lead teams to achieve objectives while adhering to safety, quality, and productivity standards.
  • 5-10 years of experience in a manufacturing setting in an electrical engineering capacity or similar role.
  • 0-3 years of experience in PLC programming (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens), HMI design, and SCADA systems.
