Position Overview:

As a member of RoviSys Building Technologies, you will leverage advanced control and automation solutions to deliver exceptional results for our clients. Your role will involve the design, implementation, and configuration of building automation systems, as well as the development of custom solutions. Our team provides support both onsite and remotely from various locations worldwide, utilizing state-of-the-art technology to enhance our clients' sustainability, profitability, efficiency, and overall success.

Key Responsibilities:

Instrumentation & Electrical Design (20%)

  • Develop instrument lists by analyzing P&ID diagrams.
  • Prepare submittal and procurement documentation for control and instrumentation hardware.
  • Offer technical assistance to panel fabrication teams.
  • Inspect finished control enclosures for quality assurance.

System Design and Configuration (30%)

  • Engage in customer design review sessions.
  • Assemble development systems using project-specific hardware and computers.
  • Configure user interfaces and HMI displays.
  • Set up DDC, PLC, and/or DCS control algorithms.
  • Create system documentation based on established templates.
  • Support customer demonstrations and acceptance testing.

Onsite System Startup (50%)

  • Collaborate in a supervised capacity and/or as part of a team at client locations.
  • Install project software and configurations on-site.
  • Conduct point-to-point loop checks.
  • Perform calibration and tuning of instrumentation and software.
  • Participate in functional testing of all systems.
  • Troubleshoot any installation discrepancies.
  • Program field modifications as necessary.
  • Assist in the development of commissioning test plans and documentation updates/redlines.
  • Contribute to the creation of training materials and presentations regarding system operations and maintenance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field related to Engineering or Systems.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks and concurrent projects effectively.
  • Enthusiasm for problem-solving and developing innovative solutions.
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills.

Relevant Experience:

  • Experience in co-op positions.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes or building/facility management.
  • Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Distributed Control Systems (DCS), and/or Direct Digital Control (DDC).
  • Familiarity with web development technologies.
  • Experience in designing and implementing relational/document databases and historians (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, MongoDB, OSIsoft, etc.).
