The Transportation Systems Engineer will possess proven leadership and technical expertise in municipal projects and state transportation initiatives. Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and plan engineering solutions for intersection and roadway traffic modeling, roundabout design, and traffic signal systems.
  • Develop engineering designs for maintenance of traffic plans.
  • Conduct and review traffic impact assessments, safety evaluations, and traffic forecasting.
  • Lead design teams to ensure project objectives regarding scope, schedule, and budget are met.
  • Establish cost estimation guidelines and review estimates prepared by others.
  • Serve as Project Manager, demonstrating strong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ensure project understanding and approaches address client needs, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
  • Independently manage projects and may serve as a subject matter expert.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering is required.
  • 5+ years of experience in traffic signal design and traffic analysis.
  • Ohio PE License is required; P.T.O.E. certification is preferred.
  • Proficiency in MicroStation/Geopak/OpenRoads and/or AutoCad/Civil 3D.
  • Familiarity with design-related software such as SignCad and AutoTurn.
  • Experience with HCS, Synchro/Simtraffic, VISSIM, TransModeler, SIDRA, Rodel.
  • Knowledge of travel demand modeling is advantageous.
  • Basic or advanced GIS capabilities are preferred.
  • Understanding of MUTCD policies and procedures is essential.
  • Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset are a must.
