Position: IT Integration and Performance Improvement Manager

The PEPI practice, with offices throughout the United States, is committed to serving upper middle market and large-cap private equity firms seeking to enhance operational performance at their portfolio companies, typically ranging from $50 million to over $1 billion.

The team engages throughout the entire deal lifecycle, from pre-deal technology assessments and operational synergy evaluations to 'Day-1' planning and post-deal implementations.
Our offerings encompass due diligence (both IT and operational), merger integration and carve-out planning and execution, transition service agreement negotiation and governance, ERP implementations, IT operations and cost optimization, as well as enterprise architecture.

Role Overview:
We are in search of individuals who can contribute to a team delivering large-scale, complex client engagements that identify, design, and implement innovative business and technology solutions for private equity clients and their portfolio companies.
As a Manager at A&M, you will frequently engage in:
- Pre-acquisition IT diligence focused on key areas such as business systems (e.g., ERP, WMS, CRM), IT infrastructure, enterprise architecture, software development lifecycle, budget analysis, and personnel assessment.
- Interim IT management.
- Execution of merger integration and carve-out strategies.
- Planning and execution for Day-1 and 100-day objectives, enhancing performance in critical areas such as ERP, back office, supply chain, and business intelligence/reporting integration.
Your role will involve ensuring the quality of deliverables and effectively managing daily relationships to guarantee exceptional performance.
Qualifications:
- 5-8 years of professional consulting or relevant industry experience, with at least five years focused on systems implementations, merger integration, business transformation, and change management.
- Experience working with private equity sponsors, portfolio companies, or related transaction/merger integration.
- Deep functional expertise in areas such as:
- Private Equity Advisory
- IT merger integration and carve-out
- Business/IT transformation program/project management (e.g., ERP)
- IT operations
- Solution architecture
- Enterprise architecture and infrastructure
- IT assessment and strategy development
- IT performance improvement and cost reduction
- Proven track record collaborating with business leaders (Directors and above) and private equity deal teams.
- Strong writing skills with a commitment to producing polished client-facing documents.
- Excellent analytical skills, including business process mapping and quantitative analysis.
- Experience in designing and overseeing change/communications strategies.
- Prior strategy and change management experience from a top-tier consulting firm or niche advisory firm.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Willingness to travel at least 75% of the time.
Compensation:
The salary range is competitive and varies based on factors such as education, experience, skills, and geography. Additionally, Alvarez & Marsal offers a discretionary bonus program based on individual and firm performance.
