The Applications Integration Manager will oversee the architecture, development, and functionality of application interfaces, data streams, and APIs, leveraging both vendor-provided services and internal API management tools. This includes migrating legacy data feeds to cloud-based integration technologies, ensuring smooth data transitions between on-premise and hosted applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with various application leaders to assess their current environments and integrations, documenting all external and internal connections. Develop a comprehensive plan for implementing these integrations within a centralized framework and recommend appropriate technologies for effective management.
  • Define the integration and data flow architecture while evaluating vendor web services and API functionalities. Identify any gaps in available integration services and formulate strategies to address them, ensuring stability as platform technologies evolve.
  • Deliver necessary systems integration solutions for new business initiatives and platform transitions, maintaining continuity and security of systems, data, and business services throughout the process.
  • Assess potential API management tools, aligning their capabilities with organizational requirements and conducting validation activities as needed.
  • Contribute to the development and management of an external-facing API layer for business partner integration, including mobile applications and third-party services.
  • Work alongside support teams to resolve production issues and proactively identify opportunities for preventative measures to mitigate future occurrences.
  • Cultivate a strong team environment focused on enhancing application integration techniques.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a centralized integration team in both leadership and hands-on roles.
  • Background in transformation initiatives utilizing integration technologies to successfully connect systems (e.g., ERP, WMS, E-Commerce).
  • At least 7 years of experience delivering high-performing application solutions that adhere to scope, budget, and timeline constraints.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in software development with various integration methods and technologies, including web services, SOAP, JSON, REST, APIs, XML, automated testing frameworks, and orchestration tools.
  • Proficiency in evaluating integration approaches and understanding their strengths and limitations in relation to business objectives.
  • Experience developing integrations across multiple technologies and programming languages such as Microsoft .NET, Java, JavaScript, PHP, and Python, as well as scripting in both Linux and Windows environments.
  • Familiarity with relational databases and SQL to support legacy integration techniques.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a commitment to customer service excellence.
  • Highly motivated individual with exceptional interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, capable of working effectively both independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to balance competing priorities, manage multiple projects, and adapt to evolving business and technical requirements.
  • Experience in a collaborative, team-oriented environment that values positive relationships among colleagues.
  • Familiarity with leading customer relationship management platforms such as Salesforce or Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Web API.
  • Understanding of marketing or fundraising business processes.
  • Knowledge of WSO2 or MuleSoft.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies as well as traditional structured approaches.
  • Familiarity with version control systems such as SVN or Git.
  • Experience in a higher education context.
