Position Overview
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for managing various functions within the HR department, focusing on employee relations, training initiatives, performance management, onboarding processes, policy enforcement, recruitment, affirmative action, and compliance with employment laws.
Key Responsibilities
- Stay informed about legal obligations and government reporting standards that impact HR operations, ensuring that all policies and procedures are compliant.
- Conduct recruitment activities including interviewing, testing, and selecting candidates for open positions.
- Facilitate new employee orientation programs to promote a positive outlook towards organizational objectives.
- Maintain accurate records of personnel actions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance evaluations, and terminations for compliance purposes.
- Oversee leave management for designated locations.
- Provide guidance to management on resolving employee relations matters effectively.
- Address inquiries related to HR policies, procedures, and programs.
- Prepare documentation for employee separations and conduct exit interviews to gather insights on turnover.
- Generate monthly reports for the HR department.
- Develop HR solutions by gathering and analyzing data, and proposing actionable recommendations.
- Enhance performance among managers and employees by identifying issues, evaluating solutions, and implementing selected strategies while providing coaching and support.
- Manage special projects by defining objectives, establishing timelines, conducting research, and organizing information.
- Communicate project status and address concerns to manage client expectations, while analyzing time and cost implications.
- Compile reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing relevant data and trends.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or a related discipline from an accredited institution, along with 1-3 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A valid driver’s license may be required, along with compliance with SBM Driver Approval standards.
- Completion of all necessary safety and task training certifications.
- Proficiency in both English and Spanish is mandatory.
Compensation: $85,000 - $90,000 per year
