Job Summary

The Virginia Garcia Memorial Health Center is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Physician - Primary Care Specialist to join our team of dedicated healthcare professionals. As a key member of our medical staff, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered care to our diverse patient population.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care, including obstetrics, family planning, newborn care, pediatrics, and general adult care, in accordance with training, experience, and licensure.
  • Meet minimum patient care productivity requirements to ensure optimal patient outcomes and meet the needs of our funding and reimbursement sources.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive care plans that address the unique needs of each patient, taking into account their cultural, social, and economic backgrounds.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest medical research, guidelines, and best practices to provide evidence-based care.
Requirements
  • Current Oregon medical license and DEA registration.
  • Current staff privileges at Tuality Community Hospital and OHSU, depending on scope of practice.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)/Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required, or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred, with a willingness to become proficient in Spanish to provide medical care to our Spanish-speaking patients.
Working Conditions

The Physician - Primary Care Specialist will work in a well-lighted, ventilated environment, with occasional exposure to blood-borne pathogens and potentially hazardous chemicals. The position requires frequent standing, walking, and sitting, with occasional lifting and carrying of up to 20 pounds.

Equipment Used
  • Computer for data entry and word processing.
  • Telephone for communication.
  • Fax and copier for administrative tasks.
  • Medical equipment, including stethoscope, ophthalmoscope, otoscope, doppler, surgical/procedural instruments, and routine medical equipment.
Immunization Requirements

The Physician - Primary Care Specialist must meet immunization requirements as stated in VGMHC's immunization policy.
