The Domestic Violence Resource Center is seeking a highly skilled Human Resources Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Senior Leadership Team, you will be responsible for performing HR-related duties and working closely with our Executive Director.
This role will involve managing the agency's recruiting, onboarding, and initial trainings for staff, as well as navigating employee conflicts and ensuring adherence to agency policy and labor laws. You will also develop a comprehensive training program that upholds and builds our culture, mission, and policies.
We are looking for a professional who is objective, detail-oriented, and a creative problem solver. If you are passionate about supporting staff and promoting a positive work environment, we encourage you to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist and support all staff without consideration of sex, gender, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, age, or disability.
- Process bi-weekly payroll through Paychex Flex and generate various reports for retention.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.
- Recruit for new hires using job board sources and coordinate with our social media director for recruitment.
- Conduct screening with applicants, interviewing and onboarding, which includes background checks, trainings, and assigning IT equipment.
- Maintain personnel files for staff and Board members (paper & electronic).
- Monitor training requirements for staff and DVRC Board.
- Administer various human resource plans and assist in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures for all programs.
- Prepare and maintain employee handbook.
- Communicate with leadership team any HR updates, changes, or needs.
- Work with the IT team to support staff with equipment changes or issues.
- Administer benefit plans and communicate benefits information to employees.
- Maintain job descriptions keeping them current with agency program staff duties change.
- Maintain Grant database for grant-funded staff information.
- Develop a comprehensive training program providing multiple layers of offerings for leadership, coordinators, and staff.
- Support Program Directors with supervision tools and support for employees.
- Engage with staff working to find creative solutions to resolve work relationship challenges should they arise.
- Attend and participate in the Agency's Senior Leadership Team (SLT) meetings and All Staff meetings.
- Participate on DVRC's Safety Committee.
- Attend relevant HR trainings to stay informed and current on law changes.
- Other duties as assigned.
