Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Government Relations Manager to provide a strong and credible voice for the Association. The successful candidate will build and maintain relationships with policymakers, the Administration, federal agencies and officials to bolster support for AACOM's public policy priorities and strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and disseminate legislative and regulatory updates, alerts and other pertinent information to AACOM's membership and the broader public.
  • Facilitate government relations groups and manage events such as AACOM's lobby day(s) and Capitol Hill briefings.
  • Represent AACOM before Congress, the Administration, federal agencies and external stakeholders.
  • Engage members in legislative and regulatory advocacy.
  • Monitor and report on political, legislative and regulatory trends affecting AACOM and its members.
  • Draft government relations content, including website material, social media posts, newsletters, fact sheets, talking points and public policy issue briefs.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of five years of professional experience required.
  • Experience in an association setting with government relations/advocacy/lobbying function preferred.
  • Knowledge of federal healthcare and education policy.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to present on behalf of the association at various meetings and events.
  • Ability to think strategically and critically evaluate legislative and regulatory risks and opportunities.
