We are seeking a highly skilled Auditor to join our team at Summit Federal Services, LLC. As a Government Contracting Specialist, you will be responsible for conducting audits on government contracts and subcontracts to ensure compliance with federal regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct Audits and Evaluations: Perform audits on government contracts and subcontracts to ensure compliance with federal regulations, including the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS).
- Review Financial Statements and Proposals: Review and analyze contractor's financial statements, cost proposals, and accounting systems to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Evaluate Internal Controls: Evaluate internal controls and identify areas of non-compliance or inefficiency, and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Prepare Audit Reports: Prepare detailed audit reports and present findings to senior management and government officials.
- Collaborate with Contractors: Collaborate with contractors to resolve audit findings and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Stay Current with Regulations: Stay current with changes in regulations and standards that impact government contract audits.
- Travel to Contractor Sites: Travel to contractor sites as needed to perform on-site audits and evaluations.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Government Contract Audit Experience: 3+ years of Govcon audit experience with a public accounting firm.
- Defense Industry Experience: Experience with auditing within the defense industry or other government agencies.
- DCAA Audit Experience: Experience with DCAA audits, FAR, and CAS.
- Professional Certifications: CPA, CIA, or CFE certification is a plus.
- Strong Analytical and Communication Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and Caseware a plus.
- Knowledge of Government Contracting Processes: In-depth knowledge of government contracting processes and regulations.
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
