Job Summary

The Electrical Power Systems Specialist is responsible for testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of electrical power systems and sub-systems independently or as part of a team in various environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform acceptance and maintenance testing on circuit breakers, cables, switchboards, switchgear, switches, metering systems, control systems, protective relays, UPS, battery systems, etc.
  • Start-up services on switchgear and electrical systems up through the 500-kV class.
  • Troubleshoot systems and components up to 500-kV.
  • Read and interpret complex power system studies including short circuit, arc flash, protective device coordination, reliability, harmonics, and load flow analysis.
  • Complete test data recording accurately and reliably.
Requirements
  • NETA Level III or Level IV certification.
  • Washington State Electrician Trainee Card.
  • Background check.
  • Ability to work in construction environments, indoor and outdoor, in all weather conditions.
  • Climb and work on ladders, scaffolding, and man-lifts occasionally.
  • Lift and carry objects up to 75 pounds.
  • Willing to work flexible hours, weekends, holidays, and night work.
  • Valid Driver's License.

  • $50-$70/hour DOE.
