The Individuals Policy Directorate (IPD) oversees all policy and technical aspects related to taxes and benefits affecting individual customers. The IPD Impacting and Change team manages a diverse portfolio concerning the tax treatment of Pensions, Charities, and Savings. This team plays a crucial role in the effective design and execution of new policies while managing various routine systems and processes. Currently, the team is engaged in numerous significant change initiatives and is exploring options to facilitate policy adjustments.

Position Description

This role presents an intriguing and demanding opportunity where you will be tasked with designing and implementing the necessary products and processes to support new legislation.

You will be part of a team that significantly contributes to change delivery, offering subject matter expertise from the inception of new projects to their final execution.

The responsibilities of this role may vary based on current business priorities, necessitating adaptability and a willingness to engage in other subject areas both within the team and across the broader Individuals Policy Directorate.

Some travel to various CS&TD locations may be required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop impacted IT products.
  • Create standardized guidance for users.
  • Develop online IT solutions and tools.
  • Establish and implement internal operational processes for our Service Delivery, Risk, and Compliance Teams.
  • Generate internal and external communications to raise awareness of changes prior to implementation, promoting an early adoption mindset.
  • Collaborate with other teams in Pensions, Charities, and Savings, as well as the wider HMRC, to ensure effective implementation of operational processes that align with existing business priorities.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Recent experience in assessing the impacts of new policy on IT systems and processes.
  • Recent experience in executing change within an operational environment.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Pensions, Charities, and/or Savings processes and legislation.

Benefits

In addition to a salary of £35,092, HM Revenue and Customs contributes £9,474 towards your membership in the Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension scheme.

HMRC offers both Flexible and Hybrid Working policies, allowing you to balance your professional and personal commitments. We welcome applications from individuals seeking flexible arrangements and will consider requests where feasible, taking into account our operational and customer service needs.

We provide a generous leave allowance, starting at 25 days and increasing by one day for each year of qualifying service, up to a maximum of 30 days.
