The Senior Event Production Manager oversees all facets of event execution for a designated portfolio, leading, mentoring, and supporting a team of Event Production professionals across a broad geographic area to ensure the successful delivery of events that meet overarching goals. This role collaborates closely with relationship management and volunteer engagement partners to guarantee outstanding event experiences and foster revenue growth.

The portfolio will include multi-market, high-level event categories and/or a substantial number of events requiring advanced expertise, year-round dedication, and significant time commitment.

This position is remote but requires proximity to key metropolitan areas.

Key Responsibilities:

Event Execution (40% of time)
  • Collaborate regularly with the relationship management team and volunteer engagement staff, acting as project manager to ensure an exceptional experience for participants and sponsors.
  • Monitor and update event production timelines, adhering to deadlines and communicating progress to supervisors while identifying potential challenges.
  • Secure venues, permits, and insurance for events, maintaining positive relationships with local communities and vendors.
  • Oversee storage units to ensure efficient use of space and organization.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of event materials and supplies.
  • Procure, pack, and distribute event supplies as needed.
  • Manage sponsorship fulfillment and deliveries.
  • Facilitate event production meetings with relevant staff.
  • Assign event staff roles in collaboration with development teams.
  • Oversee logistics with third-party vendors as necessary.
  • Adhere to risk management guidelines during event execution.
  • Work with event leaders and volunteers to ensure safety and effective communication during events.
  • Act as a member of the Emergency Response team and manage vendor communications.
  • Assess and plan event routes, developing contingencies as required.
  • Collaborate with legal/risk management to ensure compliance with contract policies.
  • Ensure timely submission of logistical information for event tracking.
  • Other duties as assigned to support event operations.
Budget and Project Management (25% of time)
  • Negotiate and manage event contracts, including services and supplies.
  • Follow procurement processes, ensuring accurate record-keeping and adherence to financial policies.
  • Track expenses and maintain budget compliance for all events.
  • Focus on cost-saving measures through appropriate vendor bidding processes.
  • Complete post-event financials and vendor communications.
Team Leadership (20%)
  • Lead and support a team of Event Production professionals to ensure successful event execution.
  • Coach and mentor staff, providing growth opportunities aligned with organizational goals.
  • Collaborate with market leaders to enhance team skills and promote professional development.
Volunteer Management and Safety Oversight (15%)
  • Lead volunteer committees to ensure preparedness for event roles.
  • Facilitate committee meetings to address logistical details.
  • Engage volunteers for feedback on event safety and support.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Hospitality, or a related field preferred; relevant experience may substitute for degree.
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience, with prior leadership experience preferred.
  • Experience in non-profit settings is advantageous.
  • Proven ability to plan and implement events that yield measurable results.
  • Strong initiative and ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities.
  • Ability to motivate and manage staff and volunteers remotely.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of the National MS Society.

The estimated hiring compensation range for this role is competitive and will be determined based on geographic location and experience.
