At Regions, the Legal Operations Manager oversees and manages various departmental transformation projects, operational activities, and change management for the Legal Department. Will lead the strategies in implementing solutions to streamline processes and improve efficiencies especially within subpoena processing. Will manage the subpoena processing team responsible for inputting, processing, and complying with a variety of third-party requests for documents/testimony including civil and criminal subpoenas, IRS summonses, Federal Grand Jury subpoenas, and other forms of legal process.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Sets specific and measurable goals and initiatives for the subpoena processing department
  • Coordinates staffing, budgeting, and resources to ensure quality service and operational effectiveness
  • Monitors and manages the BSA/AML referral process in connection with subpoenas from law enforcement and government agencies
  • Identifies and manages legal and operational risk related to routine subpoenas; improves processes to reduce risk
  • Adheres to internal and external privacy guidelines and regulations and ensures compliance with Bank policy and all applicable federal regulations and state laws
  • Develops and implements written internal policies and procedures, templates, and workflows
  • Subject matter expert on continuous improvement, project management and Lean Six Sigma deployment
  • Understands the department's vision, objectives, and improvement needs and develops/aligns continuous improvement strategy, objectives, and targets
  • Works to document and standardize processes
  • Drives technology requirements
  • Assists in the development of service delivery models
  • Provides organization-wide visibility of current portfolio of continuous improvement projects; track via metrics and KPIs progress and value from projects to help decision makers allocate resources and recognize success, with special focus on operational cost reduction
  • Assists functional owners in building up their continuous improvement competency and resources to sustain solutions
  • Provides training, coaching and facilitation support to individuals and teams so that they are better equipped to drive improvements needs and initiatives

This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.

This position is incentive eligible.

This is a single incumbent position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Ten (10) years of experience in a legal department, law firm, or relevant bank operations role
  • Five (5) years of experience in a supervisory or managerial role

Preferences

  • Law Degree
  • Lean Six Sigma Certified – minimum green belt certification
  • Experience in process improvement/service delivery transformation a plus
  • Expertise in large technology implementations
  • Expertise in dashboard/reporting and CRM applications

  • Knowledge of matter management and banking systems (i.e., TyMetrix, Mainframe, Webview, Empower, etc.)
  • Strong work ethic and self-motivation
  • Tech-savvy and well-versed in enterprise software applications

Compensation Details

Pay ranges are job specific and are provided as a point-of-market reference for compensation decisions. Other factors which directly impact pay for individual associates include: experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, job location and, most importantly, performance in the job role. As these factors vary by individuals, pay will also vary among individual associates within the same job.

The target information listed below is based on the Metropolitan Statistical Area Market Range for where the position is located and level of the position.

$135,635.60 USD

50th Percentile:

$177,360.00 USD

Incentive Pay Plans:

This role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary incentive plan. Employees are eligible to receive a discretionary award based on individual, business, and/or company performance.Opportunity to participate in the Long Term Incentive Plan.Location:Birmingham, Alabama
