100% FTE, day shift. Monday to Friday between the hours of 8:00am and 5:00pm, with no weekend obligations. Hours may vary based on departmental operational needs.

Compensation:
UW Health provides a competitive salary package. Relevant work experience will be considered when establishing the starting base pay. New hires may qualify for a $5,000 sign-on bonus (pro-rated based on FTE).

About the Role:
We are looking for a Program Instructor for our Medical Assistant Training Program to:
  • Deliver lectures and corresponding laboratory exercises, including theoretical and practical instruction and assessment.
  • Ensure that course content and clinical laboratory activities align with educational objectives.
  • Encourage and motivate students throughout their learning journey.

Educational Requirements:
Minimum:
  • Associate Degree in a Health Care or Education-related field.

Preferred:
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a Health Care or Education-related field.

Experience Requirements:
Minimum:
  • Two (2) years of full-time clinical experience as a certified medical assistant or registered nurse, including teaching experience in both classroom and clinical environments.

Preferred:
  • Five (5) years of full-time clinical experience as a certified medical assistant or registered nurse, with instructional experience in classroom and clinical settings.

Licenses and Certifications:
Minimum:
  • CMA certification.

Preferred:
  • CMA, RN, and Phlebotomy certifications.

Essential Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
  • Ability to perform and instruct on a variety of daily tasks associated with Medical Assisting.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of procedures and techniques performed by Medical Assistants.
  • Capability to assess student performance technically in clinical settings.
  • Ability to comprehend scientific literature related to medical assisting and nursing.
  • Skill in explaining complex concepts related to anatomy, physiology, and pathology.

Physical Requirements:
Light:

Ability to lift up to 20 pounds maximum, with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds.
