Job Summary

Madison Area Technical College is seeking a pool of qualified candidates to teach part-time courses in the Film program. As a part-time instructor, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, developing curriculum, and assessing student learning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach film courses at the college level, including Introduction to Film and History of World Cinema.
  • Develop and implement effective instructional strategies and alternative delivery methods.
  • Participate in in-service meetings, staff development training, and other activities requested by the department.
  • Advise and assist students with academic matters, including course content, career concerns, and other academic issues.
  • Maintain competencies as an instructor, aligned with the Faculty Quality Assurance System.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to the college's mission, vision, and values.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Film, Creative Writing (screen writing emphasis), English, or Mass Communication.
  • 18 graduate credits in film history and analysis.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of current educational methods and strategies, including learner-centered instruction, assessment, and evaluation.
  • Skill in the use of educational technology and alternative delivery methods.
  • Ability to infuse multicultural perspectives into course content and delivery.
  • Strong communication and human relations skills, with the ability to work with diverse populations.
