Job Overview

We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Educational Sign Language Facilitator to join our team. This role is essential in providing effective communication support for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.


Location: Wilmington, NC

Employment Type: Full-time, Contract

Certification: EIPA Required

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver interpretation and transliteration services within educational environments.
  • Facilitate communication among deaf or hard of hearing students, educators, and peers.
  • Assist students in comprehending classroom instructions, discussions, and activities.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism throughout all interpreting tasks.
  • Collaborate with educators, administrators, and families to promote student achievement.

Qualifications:
  • Must possess Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) certification.
  • Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) is required.
  • Prior experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in educational settings is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to adapt to various educational contexts and meet diverse student needs.
