About the Position:

As a pivotal member of our Site Reliability Engineering team at Character Technologies, you will play a crucial role in managing our extensive infrastructure, which encompasses thousands of nodes, vast amounts of data, and millions of active users daily.

Your primary focus will be to ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of our product as we aim to expand our user base significantly.

Collaborate closely with our development teams to design and implement robust processes and systems that guarantee the stability and availability of our services.


Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and monitor production services to ensure continuous operation.
Develop and enhance tools, instrumentation, and automation to optimize the performance and reliability of our services.
Implement and maintain automation tools and processes to proactively address and mitigate service disruptions.
Work alongside development teams to create scalable and reliable systems, including CI/CD processes for deployment.

Establish and uphold SLAs and SLOs for our services. Provide system monitoring and incident alerts. Participate in on-call rotations to support critical incidents and outages.


Formulate strategies for site reliability and disaster recovery.

Qualifications:

5+ years of experience in a development-oriented DevOps/SRE role within a large-scale technology organization. Proven expertise in developing software tools and automation using Python and Golang.

In-depth knowledge of SQL, Linux, CI/CD, Kubernetes, and Terraform to support applications within a multi-node infrastructure.

Experience with various cloud computing platforms, particularly GCP, is essential. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot technical issues across diverse platforms and systems.

Familiarity with incident management and conducting postmortems is preferred.

Desired Skills:

Experience with GPU clusters and/or HPC environments is advantageous. Proficiency in monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus and Grafana. Hands-on experience in scaling consumer products during periods of rapid growth.

Compensation:
$150K - $350K
