We are currently seeking experienced Senior Mechanical Engineers specializing in thermal and fluid systems design. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and optimizing hardware for air and liquid handling systems, overseeing concepts from inception through to production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage in brainstorming sessions to innovate and enhance all facets of the Linear Generator.
- Design and refine critical thermal subsystems to reduce costs, enhance performance, and ensure reliability.
- Collaborate with reliability and testing teams to validate components and systems, facilitating rapid learning cycles for next-generation deployments.
- Work cross-functionally with manufacturing engineering and external suppliers to expedite the transition of new designs into production.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, with a minimum of 6 years of relevant industry experience, or a Master's degree with 4 years of experience.
- Proven experience in designing air or liquid handling systems, with a strong foundation in thermo-fluid system design.
- Proficient in SolidWorks or a similar CAD software, with experience in PDM or version control systems preferred.
- Familiarity with finite element analysis (structural, thermal, or fluids) is essential.
- Experience with thermal systems design simulation tools, both 1D and 3D.
- Background in collaborating with suppliers to develop and qualify new components.
- Knowledge of various manufacturing processes, including sheet metal forming, machining, and plastics molding.
- Strong attention to detail in generating and reviewing design documentation, bills of materials, and test plans.
- Experience with GD&T is advantageous.
- Self-motivated with a track record of delivering functional designs in fast-paced environments, ideally across the full design lifecycle.
- Passion for creating innovative and cost-effective solutions for large-scale deployment of zero-carbon energy technologies.
