Mark Thomas & Company is seeking a Construction Management Engineer/Senior Construction Management Engineer. The Construction Management (CM) Engineer plays a pivotal role in overseeing project execution, ensuring adherence to established plans, specifications, and standards. As a key representative of the CM Manager and/or client, the Engineer will possess the authority to make critical decisions on a project-by-project basis, particularly concerning safety matters. Ideal candidates will have substantial CM experience in areas such as roadway construction, grade separation, and bridge enhancement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversees daily construction management and inspection activities on-site, ensuring effective supervision of contractor and subcontractor operations.
  • Leads and mentors project staff, fostering professional development.
  • Ensures compliance with quality standards and project timelines.
  • Maintains high levels of client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Handles construction contract administration tasks, including payment requests, change orders, and project correspondence from initiation to completion.
  • Facilitates site meetings with contractors and relevant stakeholders.
  • Coordinates directly with the client's Project Representatives to ensure alignment.
  • Provides regular updates to the Construction Services Department Manager regarding project status.
  • Engages in training initiatives and actively contributes to the achievement of Mark Thomas & Company's strategic objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience managing public roadway projects in California under local assistance or CT guidelines.
  • Possession of a valid Professional Engineer (PE) license in California.
  • Valid California driver's license.
  • Strong understanding of project financials and performance metrics.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
