Key Responsibilities:
We are seeking a qualified Sustainability Construction Engineer who will collaborate closely with the Construction Sustainability Manager. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in managing on-site construction operations, subcontractors, and personnel to ensure timely and budget-compliant project delivery. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Facilitating on-site meetings and documenting minutes
  • Preparing Requests for Information (RFI), Submittal, and Change Order Logs
  • Coordinating testing and inspections
  • Implementing project schedules and overseeing construction budgets
  • Conducting cost estimates
  • Generating project and cost reports
  • Performing field Quality Assurance/Quality Control inspections
  • Collaborating with local government agencies
  • Managing the punch list and project closeout processes
  • Providing administrative and technical support to Project Managers
  • Reviewing contractor submittals to ensure compliance with specifications
  • Logging requests for clarification from contractors
  • Negotiating fair costs for change orders with contractors
  • Reviewing payment applications and managing project resources
  • Coordinating the delivery of related fixtures, furniture, and equipment
  • Executing additional construction management tasks as assigned

Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in program/project and construction management
  • A four-year degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or a related field
  • Expertise in Sustainability Practices in Construction and Design, including knowledge of LEED and LEED Certification Processes
  • Familiarity with Solar/PV technologies
  • The ability to work independently while managing multiple projects
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in computer applications, preferably Primavera P6 and Procore
  • Experience working with clients in the education sector
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A client-oriented approach with strong interpersonal skills
  • The capability to manage competing deadlines effectively
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Comfort with regular visits to construction sites
  • The ability to work in Sonoma County
