Join our team as an Assistant Project Manager and play a vital role in the planning and execution of construction initiatives. We are a multidisciplinary general contractor specializing in projects within the higher education sector.

About the Company

With over five decades of experience, our client is a leading commercial builder. Their portfolio includes a diverse range of projects spanning K-12 education, higher education, retail, and healthcare.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain compliance with established safety protocols
  • Ensure all necessary documentation is accurately maintained
  • Assist in the development and oversight of project budgets for assigned tasks
  • Prepare pre-construction Request for Proposals (RFPs)
  • Facilitate project meetings, set milestones, and prepare monthly reports for stakeholders
  • Establish job processes including Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, and payment applications; approve payment requests and negotiate subcontractor change orders
  • Update project timelines, supervise quality control, and manage overall project logistics
  • Support the project closeout process
  • Collaborate with the project superintendent and site operations team throughout the project lifecycle

Candidate Profile:

  • High school diploma is required; a four-year degree in construction management, engineering, or business from an accredited institution is highly preferred
  • Relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • 2-5 years of experience in commercial construction, preferably with a commercial general contractor
  • Prior experience on commercial job sites is strongly preferred
  • A genuine passion for the construction industry with the ability to identify and pursue high-quality work
  • Proficiency in industry-specific software, including Microsoft Office Suite (Project, Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint), ProCore, Adobe, BlueBeam, and JD Edward
  • Not for New York City Applicants.
