Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide independent analysis of technical submittals, including shoring and falsework, to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Review and approve change orders, submittals, shop drawings, and materials testing to ensure project quality and safety.
  • Lead construction engineering efforts for complex structures such as bridges, retaining walls, and pump stations, working closely with project team members to ensure project goals are met.
  • Conduct field inspections and contract administration to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Manage and mentor professional and technical staff to ensure high-quality project delivery.
  • Develop and review construction schedules and project documents to ensure timely and within-budget project completion.
  • Collaborate with contractors and agencies to ensure smooth project execution.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering.
  • California Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
  • At least 7 years of experience in construction contract management.
  • Strong knowledge of CALTRANS methods and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and technical skills, with proficiency in computer programs.

Career Path: Resident Engineer, Senior Construction Manager. This role may require travel and overtime.
