Job Overview

The Outdoor Guest Services Representative at the U S National Whitewater Center plays a crucial role in fostering a warm and inviting environment for all visitors. This position involves assisting guests in selecting the most suitable activities and services to enhance their experience. The role is part-time and hourly, reporting directly to the Guest Services Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the various activities, products, and services available at the center.
  • Engage with guests in a courteous, clear, and confident manner.
  • Be adaptable to various job functions as required.
  • Facilitate guest check-ins using the designated software system, distribute wristbands, confirm purchased experiences, provide directions, and address inquiries.
  • Ensure all guests are properly checked in prior to accessing activity areas.
  • Assist in keeping the grounds clean and well-maintained.
  • Serve as a point of contact for guest inquiries and conflict resolution when necessary.
  • Stay informed about food and beverage options, including specials.
  • Responsible serving and selling of alcoholic beverages in accordance with guidelines.
  • Prepare for the arrival of large groups to ensure a smooth and efficient check-in process.
  • Communicate effectively with all departments to ensure an optimal experience for each guest.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Maintain a neat, professional appearance and adhere to dress code standards.
  • Exemplary customer service and communication skills are essential.
  • Able to thrive under pressure and make independent decisions.
  • A genuine passion for assisting others and providing guidance.
  • Proficient typing skills and the ability to quickly learn new software systems.
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and during special events as needed.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in varying weather conditions.
  • Must be able to lift and carry at least 50 pounds.
  • Regularly bend, stand, lean, and kneel for sustained periods.
  • Capable of safely navigating uneven terrain or confined spaces.
  • Must work effectively in shared spaces with other staff and guests.
  • All positions require employees to report and work onsite at the center.
