About the Role

Axplora is seeking a highly skilled Director of Business Development to join our team in the Boston area. As a key member of our Sales department, you will be responsible for growing our Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) business in the defined territory.

Key Responsibilities
  • Growth and Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the Boston region, leveraging your expertise in sales and business development to drive growth and revenue.
  • Customer Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential customers, understanding their needs and preferences to deliver tailored solutions.
  • Proposal Generation: Collaborate with our technical team in Europe to develop and submit proposals that showcase our CDMO services and capabilities.
  • Contract Negotiation: Negotiate and close contracts with customers, ensuring that our terms and conditions are met.
  • Market Intelligence: Stay up-to-date with market trends, customer activities, and new opportunities or threats, providing valuable insights to our leadership team.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in chemistry, engineering, or a related technology field.
  • Experience: Minimum 10 years of sales and business development experience in the CDMO pharma industry, with a strong background in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical sectors.
  • Skills: Excellent business development skills, including prospecting, negotiation, and relationship-building, with a strong ability to communicate complex ideas and negotiate contracts.
