Role Overview

The individual in this position will be tasked with developing initial budgets, milestone cost assessments, and comprehensive bid proposals for a variety of commercial construction endeavors in Orange County. This role involves fostering productive relationships with team members, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors. Reporting directly to the Chief Estimator, you will lead project-specific teams and engage in business development and client relations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and nurture strong connections with existing and prospective clients.
  • Prepare and deliver proposals within designated timelines, ensuring follow-up until completion.
  • Ensure a smooth transition to the project manager.
  • Oversee budget management throughout the construction lifecycle.
  • Assess and prepare pricing for change orders.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline reports, tracking leads, bookings, and forecasts.
  • Develop a small team of estimating professionals.
  • Exhibit flexibility to undertake some project management responsibilities.
  • Demonstrate leadership by guiding the team effectively.
  • Leverage technology to enhance project execution and cost management.

Candidate Profile

  • A degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
  • 3-6 years of experience managing projects with budgets exceeding $5M.
  • Proven track record as an estimator, preferably within the K-12 sector, though this is not a strict requirement.
  • Aspirants seeking to advance their careers and move into senior leadership roles are encouraged.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and estimating software, such as Timberline, is essential.
  • A collaborative team player capable of working with diverse individuals throughout the project lifecycle.
