Position Overview

The Industry Manager will concentrate on promoting secure automation solutions within the specific sectors of Semiconductors and Hydrogen. This role involves collaborating locally across various business functions and globally to formulate and implement the market strategy tailored to meet customer automation requirements pertinent to these industries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate, develop, and implement market strategies for the designated sectors in partnership with marketing, sales, key account management, product management, engineering, and global counterparts.
  • Identify prospective clients and key stakeholders, nurturing relationships with strategic customers.
  • Enhance and expand connections with both new and existing clients, establishing trust to assist in developing their automation strategies.
  • Design and execute comprehensive marketing plans, defining total, product, and channel accessible markets based on targeted sectors and geographical areas.
  • Establish and evaluate KPIs such as market share and pricing levels.
  • Monitor and report on customer and competitor activities and market trends.
  • Articulate value propositions and create relevant sales and marketing materials to ensure precise, pertinent, and personalized presentations that effectively promote Pilz systems and solutions.
  • Conduct competitive analyses and develop strategic guides relevant to the systems and solutions offered in these sectors.
  • Analyze market pricing and develop pricing strategies.
  • Organize and participate in trade exhibitions.
  • Coordinate and lead workshops.
  • Identify product gaps and collaborate with Product Management to formulate future requirements, aiding in the development of product and technology roadmaps.
  • Drive the creation of market-specific solutions in conjunction with Sales, Engineering, and Product Management; coordinate developments with global peers.
  • Monitor and report on local patent activities and issues.
  • Engage in industry associations, steering committees, and standards groups.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Travel Requirements: Up to 50% travel is expected, primarily domestic with some international travel.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in automation sales, strategic marketing, or product management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prior experience in the automation sector.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to address large audiences effectively.
  • Strong organizational and planning capabilities.
  • Capacity to acquire and demonstrate technical knowledge.
  • Self-driven with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Well-organized and team-oriented.
  • Customer-centric, reliable, and trustworthy with the utmost integrity.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA in conjunction with a technical degree.
  • Over ten years of experience with a background in engineering, product management, and/or strategic marketing.
  • Demonstrated influencing and collaboration skills with the ability to operate within a matrix organization.
  • Previous experience in the Semiconductor and/or Hydrogen sectors.
  • Proven capability to discuss both technical and commercial aspects of project completion with key stakeholders, from operational levels to executive management.
