Motion Picture Industry Pension & Health Plans (MPI) is seeking a Human Resources Manager to become an integral part of our dynamic HR team, focusing on employee development, engagement, and various HR initiatives.

This role is based onsite in Studio City, CA. MPI mandates that all employees be vaccinated against Covid-19, with exceptions made as required by law. We are looking for local candidates only, as relocation assistance is not available.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing internal training programs, including the administration of Skillsoft/Percipio LMS and DDI Pinpoint LMS.
  • Effectively promote and communicate learning and development opportunities to enhance employee participation and skill enhancement.
  • Oversee the promotion of supplemental benefit programs to boost awareness and engagement.
  • Co-manage the administration of leave of absence requests and maintain daily management of FMLA, CFRA, PDL, PFL, ADA, Workers Comp, and Short and Long Term Disability claims, including the ADA interactive process.
  • Manage all aspects of Workers Compensation claims from the initial injury report through investigation and benefits coordination, ensuring compliance with documentation requirements.
  • Utilize knowledge of compensation best practices to benchmark compensation ranges, balancing external market pricing with internal equity while ensuring compliance with the Fair Labor Standards Act.
  • Develop, prepare, and maintain HR reports for data analysis and management.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with HR Generalists and Talent Acquisition Specialists.
  • Support performance management processes, including annual evaluations and corrective actions.
  • Assist in employee relations matters, including conducting investigations.
  • Identify and address issues proactively, recommending effective resolutions.
  • Maintain high levels of customer service and professional relationships within MPI and with third-party vendors.

Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of experience as a senior-level HR generalist, business partner, or manager in California; supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Skillsoft/Percipio and DDI Pinpoint learning management systems is highly desirable.
  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills, with certification as a True Colors facilitator being a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing leaves of absence, including FMLA, CFRA, PDL, PFL, ADA, FLSA, FEHA, and EEOC.
  • Ability to assess and make decisions regarding FMLA based on medical documentation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong command of grammar and spelling.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, with intermediate skills in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word (advanced skills are a plus).
  • Experience with HR Analytics, HRIS, and ATS systems is essential.
  • Familiarity with Ceridian Dayforce and compensation tools is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are required.
  • HR Certification (SHRM-CP or PHR) is preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Experience handling confidential information with professionalism and discretion, demonstrating sound judgment.

The anticipated base salary for this position ranges from $120,000 to $140,000 annually. The actual salary offered will depend on various factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant, relevant experience, education level, and any certifications or professional licenses held.
