Job Summary

Astrion, Inc. is seeking an experienced Avionics Integration Engineer SME to join our team in Dayton, Ohio. As an Avionics Integration Engineer SME, you will be responsible for the integration of radar and EW sensors, developing and reviewing program documentation, and providing technical advice to the Government.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and review program documentation for avionics engineering requirements
  • Assist the Government in drafting and developing systems/subsystem specifications and engineering documents
  • Attend technical reviews and provide technical advice on the path forward for hardware and software installation
  • Support hardware/software development and related system ground and flight test activities
  • Perform analyses of avionics and subsystems, including system threat analysis and radar system performance testing
  • Support Aircraft Information Management Systems (AIMS) requirements/testing/certification and spectrum management requirements/testing/certification
  • Perform technical activities associated with radar waveforms and signal and data processing techniques
Requirements
  • Advanced Degree (Master of Arts (MA)/Master of Science (MS)) and 12 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, 5 years of which must be in the DoD
  • Current Required Security Clearance: Secret
  • Must have knowledge of avionics engineering in support of avionics subsystem definition, development, integration, all verification methods to include review of ICD, sustainment, Modeling, Simulation and Analysis (MS&A), T&E, and airworthiness certification across a wide range of hardware and software systems
  • Must have knowledge of radar theory and principles, and an understanding of the radar design, development, and implementation process is required
