Job Purpose/Summary:
The primary role involves operating and maintaining terminal assets and/or pipeline facilities, including tanks and pipeline pumping stations, to ensure the precise and safe transportation and storage of products while adhering to government regulations. This position assists with the movement of petroleum products in and out of pipeline terminals and/or pump stations.

Responsibilities include managing product storage, custody transfer activities, and coordinating with carriers and customers.

This role may require call-outs for work related to Plains field operations and/or emergency response.

Job Responsibilities:

Operate and maintain terminal facilities, including:


tanks, pumps, LACTs, valves, and terminal piping, ensuring accurate and safe transportation and storage of products, as well as custody transfer activities with connecting carriers and customers.

Conduct inspections of pumps, valves, and equipment for proper operation and perform general facility maintenance as necessary.

Carry out all monthly DOT inspections, including tankage, fire extinguishers, fire water pumps, etc., ensuring that all associated records are completed.

Maintain effective and timely communication with the Terminal Control Center.

Take meter readings, inspect and gauge tanks, and complete accurate and timely reports.

Inspect perimeter fencing, locks, etc., to uphold facility security.

Maintain environmental equipment and manage waste processing.

Perform additional functions as required by the Terminal or Operations Supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Must possess pipeline knowledge and experience, with the capability to manage a wide range of pipeline responsibilities, ensuring safe operating conditions in compliance with government regulations.

Ability to read and comprehend technical operational manuals is essential.

Basic math and computer/PC skills are necessary.

As proficiency increases, the ability to calculate fluid flow, perform batch scheduling, coordinate related activities, and utilize basic sampling equipment is expected.

A valid driver's license must be maintained.

Fluency in speaking, reading, and writing English is required.

Organizational skills and proficiency in record-keeping are essential.

Must possess or obtain operator qualifications as determined by the Operations Supervisor and complete Haz-Mat training, safety programs, and meet minimum D.O.T. requirements.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills are necessary, with the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.

Must be able to occasionally lift or carry moderately heavy equipment up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as stooping, kneeling, bending, climbing, and walking in various terrains.

Willingness to work outdoors in open environments with temperature extremes is required.

Must be able to accommodate travel, overtime, and participate in an 'on-call' rotation as needed.

Qualifications:
A valid driver's license with a clean record is required.
A cleared criminal history (background) and satisfactory reference checks are mandatory.
Fluency in English is required for both speaking and writing.
Compliance with the Company's drug and alcohol policy, including pre-employment testing, is essential.
