Position Overview
As an Air Environmental Specialist, you will play a crucial role in the implementation of environmental policies and the support of district asset teams and training initiatives within the designated area.
Key Responsibilities
• Collaborate with asset teams to ensure adherence to environmental regulations, including the preparation of necessary reports and coordination of waste disposal activities.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on relevant environmental laws and standards.
• Oversee the air permitting program for the site, which includes updating necessary permits and submitting applications as required.
• Conduct biannual Reasonable Inquiry assessments in compliance with state regulations and prepare semi-annual Title V Deviation Reports.
• Maintain compliance documentation for all air quality regulations, including MACT and NSPS standards, ensuring timely submission of periodic reports.
• Manage the Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) program, coordinating with third-party contractors and the maintenance team to ensure timely repairs.
• Provide guidance and support to asset teams in fulfilling environmental training requirements across Field Operations and Terminals.
• Coordinate the disposal and documentation of waste generated on-site, promoting recycling and waste reduction initiatives.
• Assist in conducting annual environmental audits of pipeline and terminal facilities, ensuring compliance with regulations.
• Lead investigations and root cause analyses for significant incidents, serving as the Site Environmental Officer during emergencies.
• Act as a liaison between environmental departments and state agencies, offering technical advice on environmental equipment and procedures.
• Ensure that all environmental reporting obligations are fulfilled, including Discharge Monitoring Reports and Annual Waste Summaries.
• Regularly update environmental plans to reflect changes in operations or equipment installations.
Qualifications
• A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as science or engineering is required.
• Experience in pipeline environmental compliance ranging from entry-level to over 10 years, depending on the position level.
• Recognized as a subject matter expert in multiple environmental program areas.
• Familiarity with pipeline operations and emergency response protocols is highly desirable.
• Valid driver's license and relevant certifications such as CEP or CHMM are preferred.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, along with excellent organizational abilities.
Additional Information
• Minor travel may be required, with flexibility for short notice travel.
• Commitment to supporting district work and asset team objectives is essential.
