Job Overview

The Senior Human Resources Specialist delivers comprehensive HR administrative support across various programs, ensuring timely and accurate employee compensation while addressing all HR-related concerns efficiently. Collaborates closely with program teams to gather insights on enhancing the HR partnership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Acts as a key resource for resolving complex issues within functional HR domains.
  • Formulates and suggests innovative policies, practices, and initiatives to align with management and employee requirements.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and relevant labor laws at both state and federal levels.
  • Collaborates with business units on compensation strategies, identifying customer needs, and developing solutions for successful outcomes.
  • Assists business units with recruitment needs, serving as a liaison for effective job postings, hiring processes, and onboarding of new employees.
  • Facilitates various HR and employment activities for designated programs.
  • Oversees the HR functions between assigned strategic business units, third-party administrators, and the corporate office.
  • Serves as a contact point for managers and employees regarding employee relations matters.
  • Ensures that training is effectively delivered to employees and managers regarding HR-related responsibilities, including performance and merit management.
  • Implements corporate HR initiatives such as benefits enrollment, merit increases, performance management, and community service programs.
  • Creates and maintains HR documentation and updates the information systems in accordance with established procedures.
  • Validates and prepares necessary contracts for overseas operations, including modifications and termination letters.
  • Mentors and trains junior HR Generalists.
  • May be assigned specific duties related to targeted business areas that are not previously mentioned.

Perform all other position-related duties as assigned or requested.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Four (4) to six (6) years of experience in a Human Resources setting.
  • Two (2) years of HR experience may substitute for each year of an Associate's degree.
  • Advanced understanding of HR functions.
  • Experience in a customer-focused professional environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks while ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Proven ability to achieve goals with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficient in general computer applications, including spreadsheets, presentations, and HR management systems.
  • Demonstrated success in applying HR principles to complex assignments.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management is preferred.
  • Experience in the federal government contracting sector is highly desirable.

Work is conducted in a standard office environment with controlled conditions. If travel is required, personnel should be prepared for potentially challenging climates and remote locations.
