About the Role

UCHealth is seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Specialist to join our team in our ambulatory care settings. As a Patient Access Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring that patients receive high-quality care by providing exceptional registration and clerical services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Registration and Scheduling: Meet with patients and/or their caregivers to exchange necessary information and documentation, provide explanations of visit instructions, and address concerns and questions.
  • Communication and Coordination: Communicate with referring providers' offices, clinical departments, and/or other personnel to exchange necessary information and determine schedules.
  • Insurance Verification and Authorization: Verify patients' insurance benefits and obtain pre-certification/authorization as necessary.
  • Financial Transactions: Determine and accept required payments, including co-pays and deductibles, or refer to financial counselors for follow-up.
  • Accuracy and Timeliness: Ensure that all necessary demographic, billing, and clinical information is obtained and entered in the registration system with timeliness and accuracy.
