Position Overview

The Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated is in search of a dedicated Branch Operations Leader for the For Members Only Federal Credit Union (FMO). This pivotal role involves overseeing, promoting, and coordinating the operational functions of FMO to enhance market presence, boost efficiency, and drive profitability while aligning with the organization’s core values. The Branch Operations Leader will report directly to the Executive Director of FMO.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Consistently achieve and surpass all operational goals and member service benchmarks.
  • Uphold and conduct all business in accordance with the Core Values of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.
  • Evaluate and adjudicate loan applications in collaboration with loan and credit committees.
  • Guide and mentor staff to maximize sales opportunities and ensure targets are met.
  • Actively seek out and enroll new members to fulfill monthly objectives.
  • Commit to fostering growth within the Credit Union by training staff to effectively cross-sell products and services.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships both internally and externally through effective problem-solving and follow-through.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Utilize decision-making tools to enhance customer retention.
  • Serve as a financial mentor by reviewing credit reports with members, identifying areas for improvement, and recommending beneficial products and services.
  • Assess the needs of potential members and refer them to appropriate departments as necessary.
  • Drive business development initiatives through active engagement in community events and credit union activities.
  • Develop and nurture a high-performing sales and service team through effective leadership and coaching.
  • Conduct annual member satisfaction surveys to gather feedback and implement responsive actions.
  • Monitor the quality of member accounts to prevent fraudulent activities.
  • Address member complaints and concerns promptly and effectively.
  • Review and negotiate contracts for approval when necessary.
  • Ensure the confidentiality and security of member files are maintained.
  • Adhere to all policies regarding cash handling and compliance regulations.
  • Manage password security effectively.
  • Stay informed about regulations and organizational policies relevant to the role, including the Bank Secrecy Act and Fair Lending.

Work Environment:

  • Fast-paced and demanding atmosphere.
  • Oversee multiple operations simultaneously.
  • Meet deadlines as required by regulatory standards.
  • Primarily office-based, with potential off-site work during meetings and events.
  • Initial travel may be necessary for member enrollment.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including potential overtime based on demand.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work extended hours as needed.
  • Flexibility in hours to accommodate member needs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or business management preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational capabilities.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks and maintain composure under pressure.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in general office software, particularly Microsoft Office Suite.

Preference will be given to members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated in good standing, with a thorough understanding of the sorority's structure and governing documents.
