About the Role

As a Registered Nurse (RN) Resident in our 2M Med/Surg & Telemetry Unit, you will provide care to a variety of surgical and medical patients. The residency program is tailored to your individual learning style and pace, allowing you to gain hands-on experience while being mentored by an experienced coach. This program is designed to enhance your clinical judgment, communication skills, and complex nursing abilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage in a residency core curriculum tailored to your learning needs.
  • Provide direct nursing care under the guidance of a coach, adhering to established policies and protocols.
  • Assess and prioritize patient care activities based on acuity, preferences, and available resources.
  • Implement interventions to ensure safe and effective patient care.
  • Respond to health risks and take appropriate actions to mitigate them.
  • Seek guidance when necessary to ensure safe and independent practice.
  • Document patient care in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
  • BSN preferred.
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire.

Work Environment

This role requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment. You will be expected to handle physical demands such as lifting and moving patients, and working under stressful conditions.
