About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Corporate Banking Assistant Vice President to join our team at Bank of China Limited, New York Branch. As a key member of our syndication and structured finance team, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of business development, including customer relationships, market research, and credit risk analysis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Business Development and Customer Relationship
    • Maintain regular contact with customers to deliver added value to existing relationships and identify new business opportunities.
    • Conduct market research to expand our network of customer and business partner relationships.
    • Provide efficient and professional account management to our customers and resolve any difficulties or concerns in a timely manner.
    • Structure, supervise, and negotiate term sheets and commitment letters within defined parameters.
    • Evaluate the effectiveness of new business opportunities and marketing plans.
    • Conduct assessments of customer relationships and determine appropriate actions.
    • Supervise and develop quality control processes within the function.
    • Safeguard customer information and communications.
    • Provide instructional leadership and coaching to the team.
  • Credit Risk Analysis
    • Conduct due diligence for prospective deals, including detailed credit analyses, financial and industry analyses, and risk assessments.
    • Evaluate the credit worthiness of customers.
    • Create and send decision notifications.
    • Prepare documentation, acquire executed documentation from customers, and review for accuracy.
    • Verify that appropriate pricing, loan terms, and profitability requirements are achieved.
    • Oversee processing activity in assigned accounts based on customer directives.
    • Review and recommend updates to departmental policies and procedures.
    • Conduct scheduled credit reviews of loans for overall asset quality.
  • Portfolio and Post-Lending Management
    • Oversee the asset management of existing loan portfolios, including syndicated loans, merger and acquisition finance, and project loans.
    • Ensure the processing and closing of loans in a prompt, accurate, and efficient manner.
    • Assist with administrative duties, such as account setup, internal reports, drawdown management, and post-lending monitoring.
    • Monitor matured/maturing loans/credit lines and coordinate renewal.
  • Risk and Compliance Management
    • Ensure all departmental and loan activities are in compliance with applicable federal laws and regulations, including Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), KYC, and others.
    • Understand and comply with bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
    • Keep abreast of industry trends and understand regulatory requirements.
    • Assist with audits in providing requested supporting documentation.
    Requirements
    • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, or economics is required; a master's degree is preferred.
    • 4 years of work experience in syndication or structured finance is required.
    • Passion for syndication, self-starter, high-energy level, dependable, detail-oriented, and mindful of the big picture.
    • Absorbs multiple data points and makes decisions with conviction.
    • Team player with excellent communication skills in verbal and writing, and bilingual ability in Mandarin is highly preferred.
    Pay Range

Actual salary is commensurate with candidate's relevant years of experience, skillset, education, and other qualifications.
