Overview:

The role entails delivering engineering solutions from initial design through to project completion, focusing on HVAC, plumbing, and other specialized services provided by ACCO Engineered Systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Exhibit proficiency in interpreting comprehensive construction documentation and executing projects with minimal oversight.
  • Ensure compliance with energy regulations and prepare necessary LEED documentation.
  • Perform engineering calculations, energy assessments, economic evaluations, and design layouts for HVAC, plumbing, and other systems.
  • Possess knowledge in applications engineering, including psychrometrics, refrigeration, acoustics, and control systems.
  • Collaborate with Project Management, Construction, and Service teams, as well as other trade partners for design and installation coordination.
  • Provide field engineering support: assist in project execution, conduct site surveys, coordinate trades, manage schedules, and solve problems.
  • Utilize advanced modeling software for 2D and 3D representations of HVAC or plumbing systems.
  • Effectively manage time to adhere to project timelines and deadlines.
  • Delegate tasks and collaborate efficiently with BIM support.
  • Participate independently in small project design meetings and relay information back to the project manager.
  • Maintain clear communication with engineering leadership, project management, BIM, and construction teams.
  • Understand basic control systems and draft fundamental operational sequences with guidance.
  • Demonstrate awareness of ACCO's business objectives relevant to assigned projects.
  • Perform additional duties as directed by management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
  • Previous internship experience with a mechanical contractor or engineering consultancy is preferred but not mandatory.
  • EIT certification is highly desirable.
  • Strong grasp of engineering principles.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, or similar drafting tools is preferred.

Physical Demands:

The physical requirements for this position include the ability to lift and move items up to 20 pounds occasionally, with specific vision and hearing capabilities necessary for effective communication and task execution.

Work Schedule:

This position operates Monday through Friday, with work hours typically starting and ending between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM, including breaks.

Compensation:

Hourly wage ranges from $40.87 to $49.04, with actual compensation determined by various factors including experience and qualifications.
